COACHING INDIVIDUALS

Individual coaching creates space for reflection, growth, and real change—helping you live and lead with greater clarity, confidence, and alignment.

What is individual coaching?

Individual coaching is a reflective, forward-looking partnership that supports people in growing into more intentional, effective, and self-aware versions of themselves. It creates space to pause, explore, and make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface—patterns, beliefs, habits, and strengths. Coaching helps clients navigate complexity, make meaningful choices, and move through challenges with greater clarity and confidence. It's not about giving advice or offering quick solutions; it's about creating the conditions for lasting growth—in work and in life.

What kind of individual coach am I?

My coaching is grounded in the belief that with the right space, support, and intention, every leader has the capacity to grow. I partner with clients to clarify goals, uncover barriers, and shift the habits—both conscious and unconscious—that shape how they lead. My approach blends structure and intuition, drawing from my training, years of executive leadership, and deep experience working across nonprofit, corporate, and government sectors.

While our work is often focused on professional development, I coach the whole person. I offer a space where clients can reflect honestly, stretch themselves thoughtfully, and build new ways of showing up that feel both authentic and effective. Each engagement is tailored, personal, and designed to help you move from insight to impact.

What Does a Typical Engagement Include?

Each client brings a unique set of goals, experiences, and challenges—and each coaching engagement is tailored accordingly. That said, certain phases tend to emerge throughout the work (which usually spans 8-12 sessions). My approach is always personalized, but here’s what a typical coaching arc might look like:

Initial Session: Getting to Know You

We begin by exploring where you are now and where you want to go. What is your big, bold vision for the future (whether that future is in 5 months or 5 years)? Where, who, what do you want to be? These sessions include clarifying goals and deep diving into who you are and where you want to be. If helpful, we may incorporate tools like the HBDI® or 360 feedback surveys to enrich your self-awareness. This phase is also about creating the space and relationship needed for deep, reflective work.

All the sessions in between: Coaching in Action

This is where the core growth happens. Through ongoing sessions, we explore real-time challenges, test new behaviors, and strengthen your capacity to lead with greater clarity, confidence, and intention. This also includes identifying key challenges and surfacing the habits and patterns—both supportive and limiting—that shape how you lead and live. The work is iterative and emergent—always guided by your evolving needs and grounded in the real context of your work and life.

Final Session: Wrap-Up and Reflection

In the final session, we reflect on what has shifted, what’s still unfolding, and how you want to sustain your growth beyond our engagement. We revisit your original goals, celebrate progress, and clarify what support or structures you may want in place moving forward.

“She asks the right questions, interrogates your inner truths and helps you chart a path forward. If you are considering working with Maris, just know you are signing on for an honest and compassionate coach who comes to each session with a detailed memory of where you left off and a keen desire to tackle what holds you back.”
